Mercedes-Benz will recall 26.2 thousand S580 and 930 Mercedes-Maybach S580 sedans due to problems in the engine management system software, reports Carscoops.
Due to incorrect operation of the software controlling the Camtronic cylinder deactivation system, an excessive amount of fuel can be supplied to the cylinders, causing the temperature of the exhaust gases to increase. As a result, the catalytic converter may be damaged and the V8 4.0 engine itself may stall.
The investigation began in 2023 after an abnormally high number of luxury sedan owners began complaining that their engines were stalling or not starting. To update the software, S-Class owners will need to visit dealerships.
Previously known in the interiors of Volkswagen cars will be less cheap plastic.
