According to unofficial data, a limited batch of Vesta NG cars, assembled before the closure of the Lada Izhevsk plant, will go on sale in the coming days. As previously reported, AVTOVAZ will distribute approximately 800 vehicles in medium trim levels Comfort+ and Luxe among its 300 dealers. According to Lada.Online, citing a source in the dealer network, the updated family has three powerplants.
This is the base 1.6 VAZ-21129 (106 hp) mated to the mechanics of the VAZ-2180, another 1.6 Renault HR16DE (113 hp) with a JF015E CVT and the older 1.8 VAZ 21179 (122 hp) with a manual transmission VAZ- 2180. All engines have 16 valves, no robot transmission is expected. That is, the engine range, as expected, remained the same. The only significant change is that the 1.8 engine has been upgraded.
The source also reports that EnjoY Pro multimedia with updated functionality will appear in some trim levels of Lada Vesta NG. It is expected that in medium configurations (which were probably produced in Izhevsk before the plant was shut down), the screen will be of the traditional horizontal type. Apparently top versions with a tablet display will have to wait until next year.
But in EnjoY Pro with a standard screen, a schematic image of the operation of the parking sensors was “sewn”: you can see which sensor worked, where and at what distance the obstacle is located. Parktronic settings (sound type, volume, mute) can be changed. And there was also a trailer driving mode, which disables the rear sensors.
There is another innovation – it concerns the manufacturer’s warranty obligations. According to the source, the new Vesta, also known as Vesta NG, has a warranty of 2 years or 100 thousand km (whichever comes first), while Vesta in its current version has 3 years or 100 thousand km. The data is unofficial, the press service of the manufacturer does not comment on it.
- So far, everything will be limited to a batch of about 800 cars, but in 2023, according to the president of AVTOVAZ, the assembly of Vesta NG should resume.
- “Driving” can now be viewed on RuTube.
Three engines will be offered to choose from, in a number of configurations there will be an updated EnjoY Pro multimedia combine.
