In the autumn, drivers are advised to change wiper blades, Avtopribor expert Alena Vlasova told socialbites.ca.
“Traditionally, windshield wiper blades are replaced in the fall, during seasonal maintenance. In the summer, even in dry weather, they are subject to severe wear and tear due to exposure to ultraviolet radiation and dust, which reduces the quality of work,” he said.
Vlasova added that in the autumn, when daylight hours are shorter and heavy rainfall begins, improper wiper operation reduces visibility and threatens traffic safety. Signs of brush wear include water remaining on the windshield and uncleaned areas, squeaking and knocking sounds during operation. They can also be deformed.
According to experts, when choosing a brush, you should follow the recommendations of the car manufacturer.
“You should not install brushes that exceed the standard dimensions: during operation they can touch body elements or each other. You should also not use brushes on a very dirty windshield and try to wipe technical fluids with them,” concluded Vlasova.
Earlier, Russians were told about five preventive procedures for a car after a hot summer season.
