“In normal mode, when the engine is running without the air conditioning on, it warms up to maximum temperature, then the fan turns on and cools down,” explained the expert. “However, this leads to maximum oil loss and maximum coking of piston rings and valves.”
Sazhin added that the engine is always at the lower limit of the operating temperature range when the air conditioning is turned on. This reduces temperature fluctuations and has a positive effect on the engine.
The automobile expert added that, as a rule, there are no regulations on the operation of air conditioning in cars, so you can use it without restrictions at any temperature. Maintenance of air conditioners has been included in standard maintenance regulations, the official said.
