Taxi passengers should not engage in conflict with a driver who behaves inappropriately or aggressively. This recommendation was given by psychotherapist Evgeniy Fomin, candidate of medical sciences, in a conversation with the correspondent of socialbites.ca.
“If the taxi driver behaves inappropriately with the passenger (shouts, insults or threatens), then it is not worth getting into a conflict, as it will not lead to any positive consequences in this situation. “In the worst-case scenario, retaliatory aggressive behavior will further provoke the taxi driver and lead to a dangerous situation,” he explained.
Fomin noted that if a conflict situation has already occurred, it is best to ask the driver to stop the car. However, this should not be done if the taxi is passing through a deserted area (for example, near a forest). In this case, you need to stop at the nearest stop. At the same time, the psychotherapist advised him to use a trick and convince the driver that he needed to get out of the car because he was not feeling well. For example, a passenger may say that he or she feels sick and ill.
“Any other health problem can be used as an excuse to distract the driver and move the conversation in another direction. Once you get out of the vehicle and are safe, you can forward your complaint to the relevant services,” concluded Fomin.
