Hidden features can be found in many vehicles, often the most affordable models on the market. Alexander Vinogradov, the Behind the Wheel expert, tells in detail about all such chips, mentioning, among other things, one of the secrets that is very popular on various thematic forums, but may be completely unknown to an ordinary motorist.
We are talking about the automatic locking of the doors at the beginning of the movement. Maybe such a feature already works in your machine, but if it doesn’t, it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist at all.
Sometimes hidden functions can only be printed by flashing the blocks. But often they can be activated independently of each other, literally from the car, and auto-lock is one of them. There are three most common options.
- Option 1 On most vehicles, the automatic door lock is activated by pressing and holding the lock button for 3-5 seconds. You will hear a beep at the time of activation.
- Option 2 On many Skoda and Volkswagen models, the function is activated via the media system menu in the car settings.
- Option 3 On cars of the Lada Kalina and Granta families you can also activate the automatic door locking. To do this, turn on the ignition (turn the key to position 1) and simultaneously press and hold the “close” and “open” buttons on the key for 5 seconds. The function is disabled in the same way.
And on the Grants and Kalinas there is a glass shutter: when closing / opening the doors, the glass can be raised or lowered completely from the key fob – you just need to hold down the “close” or “open” button.
