Volvo says it won’t leave Russia

Volvo Group has not decided to leave the Russian market, but will cut some of its staff within a year. This is reported by the RIA Novosti Telegram channel with reference to the company’s statement.

“Volvo Group has decided to adapt its operations to the changing market conditions in Russia. Adapting operations will mean reducing some of the staff during this year,” the Volvo Group said in a statement.

On February 28, The Wall Street Journal reported that Swedish automaker Volvo has suspended production and sales of cars in Russia. The Russian office of the company provided information on the preservation of jobs and the payment of salaries to employees, as well as compliance with the obligations of warranty service for cars.
