The order to allocate another 28 billion rubles for the construction of the M-12 highway was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. This means that various parts of this route can be put into use earlier, reports the website of the national government. In the Vladimir region, in particular, 26 km of new road will be put into operation.
In addition, it is planned to create a reserve with the help of new funds to accelerate the implementation of the project in 2023. Reportedly, the source of funding is the government’s reserve fund.
The M-12 highway will make it possible to pass more than 2000 kilometers from St. Petersburg to Yekaterinburg without a single traffic light,” said Mikhail Mishustin.
The M-12 highway is part of the federal project “Construction of highways of the international transport corridor Europe – Western China”. It will ensure rapid automatic communication between the regions of Moscow, Vladimir, Sverdlovsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Tyumen and Chelyabinsk, the republics of Tatarstan and Chuvashia.
49 kilometers of the route in the Moscow and Vladimir regions will be put into pilot operation at the end of 2022.
