It turned out that the detained GMC driver, who was stopped at a checkpoint in Dagestan, was the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Chechnya, Major General Alikhan Tsakaev. In this respect reports Telegram channel Baza.
“On April 14, at the Gerzel checkpoint in the Novolaksky district, several police officers dragged Tsakaev out of a black SUV and laid him face down on the asphalt. According to the source, Tsakaev had no documents with him,” the publication says.
According to Baza, the minister was released without a medical report shortly after his arrest.
With information Telegram channel “Only Facts” reported that the GMC driver was driving in the opposite lane and did not stop at the request of traffic cops and then almost crashed into them. It was also claimed that the official was able to drive while drunk.
Last November, Chechnya’s leader Ramzan Kadyrov given Commanders of the Chechen security forces received first-class cars as a token of gratitude for their exemplary and loyal service. He released a video showing more than ten luxury cars from Mercedes and GMC. According to Kadyrov, the commanders “have repeatedly proven their commitment to the interests of the Motherland” and are currently “making a significant contribution to the conduct of a special military operation in Ukraine.”
