China supplies cars with a lifetime (!) warranty to Russia

In the third quarter of 2022, sales of cars of a new Chinese brand that gives a lifetime warranty on a car to the first owner may start in Russia. According to Chinese Automobiles, citing its own sources, the Hongqi brand, owned by the Chinese state group FAW, has already started the certification of its products in Russia.

We are talking about four models at once: three sedans and one crossover. Sedans vary in size, equipment and price. The Hongqi H5 is actually a “deep restyling” of the Mazda 6, followed by the larger Hongqi H7 and the crowning glory of the three-part series Hongqi H9, an analogue of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

The Hongqi E-HS9 power station produces, depending on the version, from 435 to 551 hp and the range is 460-690 km according to the NEDC cycle

Hongqi’s emphasis on sedans in the lineup is no coincidence: From the late 1950s with government limousines, the company switched to more modest sedans for civil servants in the 1990s, and in the 2000s it began to use them. to make a sale; now models are presented in Norway and Azerbaijan in addition to China. But the flagship of the lineup is now not a sedan, but a crossover – and it has also been declared for certification in Russia. This is a fully electric Hongqi E-HS9.

According to the source, even now, even before its official certification, E-HS9 is already represented in Russia – at least two independent dealers. One of them is negotiating with Hongqi about the status of the official distributor of the brand’s electric models in the Russian Federation.

It is clear that older models, including an electric crossover train, will be positioned in the luxury segment and will have an appropriate price list, but the younger Hongqi H5 sedan may very well become popular with us: in China prices are starting, translated from yuan to ruble, at 1.2 million rubles.

  • If FAW will only have the first satellite brand in Russia, then Chery will have the second: after Exeed, the company is going to launch Omoda.
  • “Driving” can now be viewed on RuTube.
