The assembly was restored by Grants, and the rest of the Lada models? Dates announced

On June 8, AvtoVAZ’s Togliatti plant resumed car assembly after a long shutdown. So far, however, only one model is in production – this is the Grant, which is now produced in a single “anti-crisis” (they say – simplified) Classic’22 configuration. But what about the rest – Niva Legend and Travel, Largus, Xray and Lada Vesta produced in Izhevsk?

It is clear that the models will return to the conveyor belt as alternative suppliers are selected to replace the retiree and logistics are set up with these companies. And also as the formation of anti-crisis configurations, in the manner of the Grant Classic’22. All this takes time. Which, the Lada.Online website reported, citing its own source of information.

Conditions for restarting the assembly of Lada models

  • Niva Legend – July 2022;
  • Niva Travel – August 2022;
  • Largus – early 2023 (the engine and gearbox are located, but the problem is in ABS, without which Largus cannot be produced, a supplier from China is being considered);
  • XRAY – to the Largus model (it is also possible to discontinue production due to the smallest localization);
  • Vesta – early 2023 (probably transfer of the assembly from Izhevsk to Tolyatti).

The source clarified that the updated Vesta NG will only be launched after the resumption of the assembly of existing models – and in particular Vesta in the current version. Recall that Maxim Sokolov said at the recently completed St. Petersburg International Economic Forum that production of Vesta NG will begin in early 2023.
