A great test of the updated crossovers Chery Tiggo 8 (1.5 turbo output 147 hp, robot box) and Geely Atlas Pro (3-cylinder 177 hp 1.5 turbo, 6-speed Aisin automatic) read and watch at this link.
In Atlas, I liked the ease of opening the hood: I just pulled the lever twice and you can raise it – no need to crawl with your palm. The seal is laid almost along the entire perimeter of the engine compartment. The engine is completely covered with plastic shields, but all necks and the oil dipstick are in the direct access zone.
Geely Atlas Pro
Underneath the bottom is a thick layer of anti-corrosion (only bare metal is left in a few places) – no need to fork out for extra processing. But it is better to put mesh in the bumper – the slots are too large, you can easily damage the radiator. In the stand, the engine is covered from below with a shield made of thin plastic. Metal protection is an option. If desired, you can cover the gas tank.
With Tiggo 8, only the engine is covered with a decorative cover – there is no complete “ski”. Under-hood seals are provided only on the furthest wall along the glass and a little bit at the front – the engine will get dirty quickly.
Chery Tiggo 8
A generous layer of mastic is applied over the entire bottom – you can not spend money on subsequent anti-corrosion treatment. And you will have to pay extra for crankcase protection – in the base there is only a plastic shield under the bumper.
The innards (exhaust, tank) are not covered by anything. Placing a grille in front of the radiators can’t hurt either.
