Toyota issues order banning 20-year-old Corolla and RAV4 from operating 16:23

The Japanese company Toyota has issued a decree according to which it is forbidden to drive some of the concern’s cars, which are already 20 years old. In this respect reports motor1.com. It was noted that such vehicles are dangerous for their owners due to defective Takata airbags that can explode at any time. This could cause an accident.

It is stated that the ban applies to 2003-2004 Corolla, 2003-2004 Corolla Matrix and 2004-2005 RAV4 models. The RAV4 has a side airbag that needs to be replaced, while the Corolla has a front passenger airbag.

There are more than 30 victims of defective Takata airbags worldwide. The largest number is in the United States – 26 people.
