Manufacturers and dealers have spare cars these days, but no one is actively buying them, says Denis Manturov, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Demand for it must be stimulated.
At the same time, we have to think about bringing imported cars into our territory and decide whether we have enough demand today.
The whole point is the price, which many people now call “protective”.
“Whether dealers or automakers will lower this price – I won’t answer this question. They record their costs that they have incurred, their costs that they will incur, bearing in mind that they have to maintain the infrastructure – therefore it is difficult to say definitively what the price will be and for what categories of cars,” Interfax reports Manturov’s words.
First of all, we need to think about boosting demand so that there is a payment demand, then it will be clear, he noted.
We can talk about the resumption of old programs to support demand, especially low-cost loans, or a combination of old and new measures. This issue will be discussed shortly.
