State Duma proposes abolition of paid parking due to disabled French parking meters 17:00

In regions of Russia where parking meters have been disabled due to EU sanctions, paid parking for drivers should be temporarily abolished. First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Control Committee Dmitry Gusev stated this in a conversation with socialbites.ca. According to him, such a situation falls within the definition of “force majeure”.

“Until the software issue is resolved, paid parking needs to be abolished, even if other forms of payment are available. As a result, people using car parks may find themselves in a situation where they need to park their car urgently, but due to sanctions, they have not had time to master other methods, except for those with disabilities, or they do not know about them at all. This is a classic force majeure that must be overcome without putting the problems of the authorities and businessmen responsible for paid parking on people’s shoulders,” Gusev said.

Parking meters were reportedly turned off in Vladivostok, Tyumen, Novosibirsk, Rostov, Kaluga and some other regions of Russia.

There were parking meters in Vladivostok disabled As of Sunday, October 1, due to EU sanctions. The equipment supplier, the French company Flowbird, reported this.

They reported that after parking meters were turned off in Novosibirsk, this malfunction did not mean that municipal parking lots could now be used free of charge. Drivers are encouraged to use other payment methods.

Formerly in the State Duma saidhow to react to other people’s “chain letters” from the traffic police.
