Downtime at the Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus plant in St. Petersburg has been extended, and the company is waiting for a business vacation in July. According to the latest data, the assembly lines will remain in place until June 30, after which a holiday will follow – from July 4 to July 17, Fontanka.ru reports, citing a copy of a letter sent to workers. In the best case scenario, the company will therefore stand still until July 18.
All work has also been suspended at the Hyundai WIA engine plant and the downtime at other suppliers has been extended for the same period. The source reports that the management of the Hyundai plant in St. Petersburg has assured employees that the brand does not intend to leave the Russian Federation, there are no plans to reduce shifts or staff.
At the same time, the option is not excluded, according to which the plant can stand still until the end of the year. In this case, benefits to employees amounting to 2/3 of the salary will continue as usual, looking at the possibility of online training, for which employees are entitled to a bonus. Keep in mind that Hyundai Motor Manufacturing produces a wide variety of Hyundai models, including the bestselling Solaris. In 2022, the company will celebrate its 10th anniversary.
