The Ministry of Energy of Russia proposed to change the existing departmental regulations and set the maximum cost for connecting electricity charges in parking lots. With such a proposal, Ivan Abramov, the first deputy chairman of the Economic Policy Committee of the Federation Council, wrote in a letter to the head of the Ministry of Energy Nikolai Shulginov, writer “Parliamentary newspaper”.
Since the process of equipping courtyard parking lots with charging stations is no longer fully regulated, management companies can increase the tariff for technological connection to approved electricity grids in regions by 10-20 times. In his speech, Abramov emphasized that “such an application of management companies imposes artificial restrictions on the use of electric transport and creates an obstacle to its development.” He also believes that such an initiative will have a positive impact not only on electric vehicle owners, but also on the state.
“It is preferable to charge such a car at night, when the tariff is cheaper. No electricity is demanded at this time of day, life stops, and meanwhile, nuclear and state power stations continue to produce the energy that needs to be consumed. For this reason, the construction of charging stations in the car parks is beneficial for the economy in principle.”
Abramov suggested providing conditions where the price would not exceed the reasonable cost of technological connection to the electricity grids in the respective regions. If such a proposal is taken into account in the Ministry, he expressed his intention to develop the necessary draft law.
