In April, Aeroflot will launch scheduled international flights from Sochi on Russian SSJ 100 aircraft, according to the airline’s website.
Rossiya Airlines (part of Aeroflot Group) will fly to Egypt, Israel, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Armenia.
“Flights from Sochi to 17 destinations will be operated with domestically produced Superjet 100 aircraft,” the company said in a statement.
A base will be organized at Sochi airport, which will serve up to 10 SSJ 100 aircraft.
“The flight program is aimed at transit passenger traffic and will be of interest to passengers on the route via Sochi from the base airports of the group’s airlines – Moscow (Sheremetyevo), St. Petersburg and Krasnoyarsk,” the airline added.
Flights to Egypt (Cairo), Israel (Tel Aviv), Kazakhstan (Aktau, Aktobe, Almaty, Atyrau, Nur-Sultan), Turkey (Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman, Istanbul) and Uzbekistan (Bukhara, Samarkand, Tashkent, Urgench, Fergana ) and Armenia (Yerevan) will begin from April 7, in some cases – from April 8.
Flights to Tehran (Iran) will resume from April 2 and to Colombo (Sri Lanka) from April 8.
In March, all international flights except those to Minsk were suspended due to the impact of EU and US sanctions. S7 and Pobeda Airlines have closed all international flights.
