As the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov stated, the Moscow plant, which became the property of the government of the capital, will not produce cars that have so far left the assembly line:
“The previous model range will not be produced”, but “a new strategy will be developed together with KAMAZ”.
We’re talking, as you might guess, about the Kama electric car. The production of cars in cooperation with foreign car manufacturers is not excluded, and a new model range will also be developed.
“Car production will be maintained at the Moscow site, but the previous model range will not be produced. Work is now underway with KAMAZ on a new strategy for the Moscow plant. It includes both the cooperation with foreign brands and the development of own products, including electrical. It is logical that all of KAMAZ’s developments in the development of electric vehicles, including those that have already been announced publicly, will be exploited,” TASS is quoted as saying by the minister.
