The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, said AVTOVAZ will continue to produce cars on a platform co-developed with the Russian manufacturer, TASS reported on May 17. According to Manturov, the nature of the deal with the French manufacturer suggests that Renault will facilitate the continuation of assembly – in particular assistance with the supply of parts needed for production.
The main condition is that Renault will make every effort to facilitate the supply of components from other countries, friendly and ready for the production and delivery of these products, in order to maintain the platform developed by Renault together with the engineers of AVTOVAZ. , to continue using it. ‘ said Mantorov.
Production of Lada XRAY cars at the Tolyatti plant; Largus will be assembled on the same line, as will Renault Logan and Sandero
It is not specified which specific cars are involved, but most likely they are models on the B0 platform. Four of these will be produced at the Togliatti site: second-generation Renault Logan and Sandero, as well as Lada XRAY and Lada Largus. During the implementation of the latter two, AVTOVAZ engineers really actively participated in the modification of the French platform.
Manturov also noted that the decision to transfer Renault’s Russian assets to state ownership was a compromise. It was adopted taking into account the fact that the French manufacturer is currently unable to fully supply components for the operation of AvtoVAZ in Togliatti and the Renault Russia plant in Moscow. “We assume that the company has the opportunity to return to the capital of AVTOVAZ within six years to continue working together,” he added.
- Earlier it was announced that two more Renault models will be produced in Togliatti, but under the Lada brand. Firstly, this is the Duster crossover (until recently produced by Renault Russia), and secondly, the latest Logan sedan of the third generation.
