How did the comparison test of Isuzu Mu-X, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Toyota Fortuner go and what turned out, read here.

Ramnik: you cannot climb without a footboard and strong handles. Isuzu and Mitsubishi are equipped with a complete set of handrails, four each. In addition, Isuzu has hind legs of such a size that you will be amazed. But Toyota has inexplicably saved money on second-row railings. Grab your hands for everything you need to do. This is a problem for older passengers.
Pajero footpegs hang lowest: 330mm from the ground. But they are also the narrowest, sticking out 72mm from the threshold. Mu-X requires you to lift your leg 370mm higher than everyone else. But it makes up for this with a good width of 82mm. Fortuner in the middle: 350mm of asphalt and 75mm wide.
Noise paradoxes
The lower the speed, the noisier Isuzu rivals. At rest, it has the highest level of vibration and acoustic pressure. With increasing speed, the difference practically disappears.
Two paradoxes. First, Mu-X and Pajero Sport exhibit the same noise level at 80 km/h as at 100 km/h. When you accelerate even harder, they become even quieter than Fortuner, whose asset is the best soundproofing of the engine compartment.
Second, there is no extra noise from the spikes on Isuzu and Mitsubishi at all. Usually at speed, they manifest as a rumble of varying degrees of obsession.

Not at ease
In terms of acceleration to hundreds, the cars were ranked in a hierarchy by power: Fortuner is the most agile, Mu-X is in the middle, Pajero Sport is lagging behind. Toyota reacts sharpest to the accelerator pedal. And in all driving modes (there are economical, standard and sport). Mitsubishi reacts faster to throttle than Isuzu, so from the measurements it seemed faster in acceleration.
Mu-X and Pajero Sport performed the same according to the stated and actual maximum speed. Fortuner exceeded the manufacturer’s promise by 5 km / h. There is, however, less comfort in it: it makes noise and dances backwards. Its rivals, although also with rigid rear axles, behave like cars.

Barely made it
While shooting, we noticed that the Isuzu rear lip was loose. Both mounting bolts were loosened. They forgot until they settled in a snowy field. You can only retreat from the one untrustworthy eye. And be sure to pull, otherwise the second car will sit.
From the second acorn, Mu-X was saved. Near the eye a bolt was torn off, the second was held almost at the last turn of wire. But the saddest part is that with her move she damaged the bumper.
It’s uncomfortable! Spare parts are now not readily available, even for a representative office. Gennady Emelkin fixed the bumper within an hour at our technical center in Tushino. The seam was fixed with superglue, a mesh was soldered to the back.

Toyota loses by demanding the most frequent service visits and having the shortest warranty. Mitsubishi has the most dealerships and the most warranty support. Isuzu centers have cried, but you rarely need to visit them.
But the biggest problem is the price. Scheduled Maintenance for Isuzu can be purchased as a discounted package, choosing the appropriate amount. Five services (up to 100 thousand km), paid in advance, will cost 164 thousand rubles instead of 196 thousand if you pay for each during the visit. On Mitsubishi for the same period (105 thousand km), the owner will visit the dealer seven times, leaving 276 thousand rubles there. And this is the minimum cost for Moscow! Other officials will go up to 40-50 thousand more. Toyota is unparalleled with its 10 MOT: dealers offer to focus on at least 300 thousand.
