More than 5 trillion rubles will be allocated to support the Russian economy

The volume of measures to support the economy will exceed 5 trillion rubles, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on May 13 at a meeting on the implementation of this year’s federal budget. The Prime Minister pointed out that the Cabinet of Ministers is closely monitoring all sectors of the economy.

In general, if we summarize not only direct aid, but also tax deferral, the financial support of his events is more than 5 trillion rubles,” TASS is quoted as quoting Mikhail Mishustin.

He added that other measures are being implemented and that the total amount of the fiscal stimulus will exceed 8 trillion rubles this year.

Such spending, he said, requires a strong financial base, so the government is pursuing “a responsible and balanced fiscal policy, as it was during the spread of the coronavirus.” Mishustin also noted that federal treasury spending increased nearly a quarter in January-April compared to the APPG.

  • A month ago, Mishustin announced that more than 3.7 billion rubles would be allocated specifically to support factories and factories.
