The press service clarifies that the quantity corresponds to that indicated in the production plan, and 70 of the assembled machines will already be manufactured using components located in Russia and friendly countries. By the end of the first quarter of this year, it is planned to reach monthly production of about 500 K5 generation trucks.
Recall that the flagship of the K5 is the main tractor KAMAZ-54901, which inherited many components, assemblies and the cab from the Mercedes-Benz Actros model year 2012. The assembly of such machines started in 2019, but stopped in 2022 due to a broken relationship with former partners. Now assembly is resumed with the use of new components, and the first task is to reach the speed of 15 trucks per day.
Now production is being reconfigured for a new model, and this task is complicated by the fact that the conveyors are loaded with production trucks of other generations. In addition, as the Executive Director of KAMAZ PJSC Yuri Gerasimov says, a certain reconfiguration of the conveyor belt and logistics is required due to the fact that “KAMAZ-54901 tractors have undergone significant modernization and have become more technologically advanced.”
