The ERA-GLONASS system records an increase in connections to the emergency assistance system of cars imported into Russia as part of parallel imports.
All cars imported from abroad must have SOS buttons connected to the ERA-GLONASS system. This rule was relaxed for legal entities and individual entrepreneurs until 1 October, but it has now been scrapped. For private individuals, the exemption applies until 1 February 2023, after which the emergency call button will be mandatory again.
In the first days of December, an average of 200 cars are identified in the system every day. Compared to October and November, in December (although the month has just begun), the dynamics have increased by 7 times.
Since October 1, since the return of the order, more than two thousand cars imported into Russia as part of parallel imports have already been connected to the state information system. A further influx is expected in February next year – a survey of importers and dealers showed that the installation of in-vehicle emergency call equipment on imported cars as part of parallel imports is expected to increase to 5,000 units per month.
More than 9.1 million vehicles are now connected to the emergency response system.
