New cars from the Iranian automaker Kerman Motors (KMC) will cost 750 thousand rubles if they appear on the Russian market. In an interview with socialbites.ca independent automotive industry consultant Sergey Burgazliev, up to 2.7 million rubles was suggested, based on the company’s house prices and possible marketing position in the Russian Federation. The specialist emphasized that only at an affordable price, the KMC J7 liftback, KMC K7 crossover and KMC T8 pickup truck can find buyers in the Russian market.
“If KMC cars appear in Russia, their cost will be enough. For example, for the J7 model to sell well in the market, its price must be 750 thousand rubles. For the K7 midsize crossover and T8 pickup truck of up to 1 million rubles to be competitive, they must be included in the budget of 2 million for the basic version with a large number of options and 2.7 million for the top-end car.” said Burgazliev.
At the same time, the specialist warned that the KMC brand will not take root in the new market, since it is not known in Russia. Representation, competent managers and marketing research are required for such cars to be in demand. Burgazliev stressed that otherwise the automaker could face the fate of Iran Khodro, another Iranian brand that entered the Russian market twice and failed both times.
The fact that KMC is considering the possibility of entering the Russian market, known at the end of November this year. Under this brand, cars of the Chinese brand JAC with a modified design and its own logo are assembled in the Islamic Republic of Iran. The current KMC lineup consists of three models: J7 liftback (JAC Sehol A5 Plus), K7 crossover (JAC X7) and T8 frame pickup (JAC T8 Pro). Kerman Motors has been operating in Iran since 1995.
Former auto expert Igor Morzharetto saidOne of the disadvantages of Iranian cars is that they are outdated.
