“Today we produce at least 100 and 150 cars of the K4 and K5 generations each month. And we will maintain this rhythm until the end of the year. KAMAZ solved the main import substitution program,” said Kogogin.
Previously, Kogogin said that the K4 generation should be discontinued by 2024, but plans could be revised in light of recent events. It should be noted that the plant now also produces trucks with a K3 cab designed in the 1970s.
But the global goal is to develop a new K5 line. The head of KAMAZ notes that a large-scale work has been carried out to locate the components, and since February it is planned to produce 500 K5 vehicles per month, and by the end of next year a total of 10,000 vehicles of the new family must be formed.
