Russian automaker AvtoVAZ is exploring new export markets for the supply of Lada cars. This was stated by company head Maxim Sokolov on the sidelines of the Russian Industrialists forum exhibition. First of all, we are talking about African countries.
Answering a question about the export of AvtoVAZ cars to other countries, Sokolov said, “Of course, we are looking at new markets, especially the African continent.”
According to the top executive, in 2023 the automaker plans to export about 20,000 Lada cars. Last year, AvtoVAZ exported 35.8 thousand cars. Main sales markets are Kazakhstan, Belarus, Azerbaijan.
Previously reportedAvtoVAZ plans to resume production of Lada Largus at the plant in Tolyatti in 2023. Largus production has been intermittently idle since April this year due to a shortage of spare parts.
