The organizers of the recent Vezdekhoder exhibition presented an intriguing idea for media members and bloggers: a handful of off-road vehicles were offered for a hands on test drive, pushed to the harshest conditions imaginable.
On the road, through deep snow, and while fording sections of semi frozen streams, observers witnessed a spectrum of modern off road life. Some models echoed the Sherpa design with a slip plane turning concept, while others showcased an articulating frame approach. What is clear is that standard off road machines we are familiar with are often the most extreme, built for low pressure tires, and each variant carries its own strengths and drawbacks. The field revealed a broad set of strategies for conquering rough terrain, from traction control systems to chassis geometry, illustrating how different manufacturers balance agility, reliability, and weight in demanding environments.
Vote – win Lada!
Participants were invited to take part in the Behind the Wheel Grand Prix poll to help identify the most exciting car introductions of the year. The vote was designed not just to crown a favorite model, but to surface insights about how journalists and enthusiasts perceive innovation in off road technology and overall usability in real world conditions.
As a token of appreciation for time spent, prizes were raffled among survey respondents. The incentive was offered to everyone who completed the questionnaire before the closing date of the campaign, with three raffle prizes awarded among eligible entrants.
