In Stavropol, authorities are investigating a traffic police officer over suspected fraud involving distinctive license plates. The case centers on a 48-year-old traffic police inspector named Nikolai Reva, known by the plates K 777 AA 26, K 007 AA 126, K 008 AA 126, E 080 XX 126, among others, which were observed on an old VAZ vehicle. The plates were later re-registered under another name and advertised for sale across social networks.

According to reports, at least 12 license plates were sold through this scheme, with the highest-priced plate potentially commanding a substantial sum. Investigators note that an associate, Alexander Reva, rented a building opposite his father’s workplace where sales contracts for correctly numbered cars were prepared and insured.

The traffic police officer, Nikolai Reva, is suspected of exceeding official powers and abusing authority. If proven guilty, he could face several years in prison. An investigative review is ongoing concerning Alexander Reva as well.

Earlier reports indicated that traffic police in the Stavropol Territory had, over the course of several years, arranged hundreds of vehicles under the same OSAGO insurance policies, with around 80 individuals suspected of fraud. The current inquiry adds to concerns about coordinated schemes exploiting registration and insurance processes.
