In September, the Lada dealer network reported total sales of 20,641 vehicles, a figure highlighted by the company’s press service. This represented a 20% increase from the first autumn month of the previous year. Against a backdrop of a challenging year, the momentum remained positive, with a 14% rise compared to August. Unsurprisingly, the Lada Granta lineup continued to lead the way for the brand, solidifying its role as the strongest performer in the lineup.
September also saw strong consumer interest in the new Grant, with 13,421 people expressing intent to own one. Avtovaz notes that this is the highest figure recorded in 2022, while the demand is up 245.4% from September 2021 and 15.9% higher than in August of the current year. This surge underscores sustained demand for practical, value-focused models among buyers across markets where Lada has a presence.
Maxim Sokolov, president of Avtovaz, commented on the factors behind the recent sales acceleration. He highlighted the role of government-backed auto loan programs, noting that more than 60% of retail sales have depended on these incentive schemes over the past two months. He emphasized Avtovaz’s ongoing effort to ensure that the most in-demand LADA models remain readily available to customers and that the company closely tracks market developments to meet evolving preferences.
Beyond the Granta, SUVs from the Niva family continued to attract buyers, contributing to the brand’s positive momentum. In particular, Niva Legend achieved record momentum with 2,133 units sold in September 2022, reflecting a 315.8% improvement over September 2021 and a 19.7% rise compared with August 2022. Niva Travel also posted steady growth, recording 1,306 vehicles sold in September, up 28.4% from September 2021 and up 139.6% from August 2022. AVTOVAZ has not released statistics for the Largus and Vesta lines during periods when those models were temporarily not available at dealerships.
- Notably, the Vesta Cross sedan has been removed from the official website, likely a temporary listing change.
