In Anapa, a driver of a Daewoo Matiz arrived at a training camp in St. He collided with a line of underage cyclists from St. Petersburg. This incident was reported by the Prosecutor’s Office of the Krasnodar Territory as part of ongoing investigations into safety practices at youth training venues.

According to the statement released on May 15, 2023, at Andreeva Gora, a Daewoo Matiz driven by a 78-year-old Temryuk resident named Varenikovskaya failed to yield to a group of young cyclists, resulting in a crash. The report specifies the time and location as the moment of contact between the vehicle and the riders, who were part of a youth cycling program.

Three cyclists, born in 2007 and 2008, sustained injuries in the collision. It was noted that the athletes were out of sight of their coaches at the moment of impact. Investigators will examine whether organizers and attendants followed established safety requirements for the training process and whether proper supervision and route planning were in place to prevent such incidents.

In a separate report, authorities described an unrelated incident in Kazan where an unidentified man assaulted a pensioner at a public transport stop. Eyewitnesses did not intervene during the altercation, and the assailant fled the scene by boarding a bus. This event is being reviewed by local law enforcement to determine any additional safety gaps in public transit hubs and the steps needed to deter similar assaults in the future.
