A deadly highway crash in the Krasnodar region involved a Hyundai Accent and two heavy trucks

Initial findings from the police indicate that a 63-year-old Krymsk resident driving the Hyundai Accent entered the oncoming traffic lane. In that moment the vehicle struck a heavy-duty MAN semi-trailer head-on. The impact caused the truck to collide with a Volvo truck and trailer that had been stationary near the roadside. Both the car and the MAN truck veered off the roadway and slipped into a ditch. Among those affected were occupants of the Hyundai who unfortunately lost their lives in the collision. First responders reported severe damage to the Hyundai as images from the scene captured the scale of the wreckage. The crash prompted a large emergency response and temporary road closures as investigators worked to determine the exact sequence of events.
In a separate development, authorities reported another traffic incident linked to an earlier event in Dagestan. A 17-year-old girl was driving a Lada Vesta and was involved in a separate collision which resulted in injuries to two women.
