The latest all‑terrain vehicle brand, now branded as Arkhant, is set to debut at a major defense and tech gathering this year. A company spokesperson stated that Arkhant represents the market entry for a line of unique off‑road machines. The concept traces back to a prototype developed in St. Petersburg by Alexei Garagashyan, the engineer celebrated for creating the first cult vehicle Sherp. With Arkhant, the project is being revived, refreshed, and reintroduced under a new name and a renewed sense of purpose. This marks the start of a broader family that will include both familiar snow and swamp capable models and entirely new designs.
The forthcoming Arkhant lineup aims to be lighter than the current Sherpa model while offering room for customization. Buyers can expect optional upgrades that emphasize comfort and capability, which will influence the final price. The price point is projected to be around 5 million rubles for base configurations, versus about 10 million rubles for contemporary Sherpa models on the market today.
Design specifics indicate the body will employ plastic materials rather than aluminum, contributing to weight savings. The propulsion will come from a gasoline engine rated at 85 horsepower, though the exact engine supplier has not been disclosed. A continuously variable transmission will couple with the motor to transfer power to the wheels. The vehicle’s overall mass is planned at roughly 1.6 tons, with a payload capacity near 1 ton. The Arkhant project is positioned as a practical, rugged option for extreme terrain enthusiasts and professionals alike, offering a balance of lightness, performance, and modularity that can be tailored to specific needs.
