During the first half of autumn, many cars gathered in the inner areas of the AVTOVAZ plant in Togliatti, in which a number of components are missing. According to some estimates, the number of incomplete machines can reach thousands of units. As independent media reported, the assembly line has no seat belts, wiring harnesses and fuel rails. The fact that incomplete machines were assembled was officially recognized at the factory.
However, the situation seems to be changing for the better. According to (https://vk.com/wall-188649544_39126) Avtograb News, incomplete Granta and Niva cars were actively understaffed by factory workers last Sunday. Employees were paid double the overtime.
Fuel rails and seat belts were installed on Niva Legend SUVs, fuel rails, wiring harnesses, bumpers and headlights were installed on Niva Travel and electric power steering and small parts were installed on Granta.
About 600 vehicles were completed in just two shifts. Work is planned to continue on evening and night shifts and on weekends and at this rate the oversupply will be eliminated quite quickly. The only (but in the current situation difficult) condition is the availability of the necessary components.
