AvtoVAZ proposes to expand the program of preferential car loans to include military personnel and retirees.
Recall that today families and drivers buying their first car can take advantage of the program that gives a 20% discount on buying a car worth up to 2 million rubles on credit (35% on electric cars).
The addition of new categories of citizens will help support demand for Russian cars, says AvtoVAZ president Maxim Sokolov.
“We all need to boost demand. We see that there is now a sharp drop in demand. In this case, we are not talking about any form of financial support directly from AvtoVAZ or other companies. We are talking about social support for those parts of the population who can buy cars, but for obvious reasons postpone the purchase of durable goods,” quotes RIA Novosti Sokolov.
Preferential car loans today have become the main driver to support the demand for products from the domestic car industry, said the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov. Therefore, the program will be extended until 2023.
Whether the ministry will accept Maxim Sokolov’s proposal is still unknown.
