Traffic was launched on a new section of the M-12 Moscow – Nizhny Novgorod – Kazan highway. Its length is 26.1 kilometers. The speed limit on site is 110 km/h.
“One of the most important events today is, of course, the opening of the second section on the M-12. Delivered a year ahead of schedule! We talked a lot with our colleagues today about the prospects of the M-12 as part of the West-East route. There is general agreement that the route should be moved further, in order to create a single route from St. Petersburg to Vladivostok,” the RG is quoting the words of Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.
To complete the second stage of the trail, it will be necessary to build another 11 kilometers of the road, which will be done before the end of 2022. Then it connects the intersection with the regional road “Volga – Stolbishchi” in the Sobinsky district with the intersection with the federal highway R-132 “Golden Ring” (Vladimir – Gus-Khrustalny – Tuma) in the Sudogodsky district.
During construction, fifteen artificial structures have already been erected and will be placed. These are bridges over the Vorsha, Koloksha and Klyazma rivers, viaducts over the M-7 Volga highway and railways.
You don’t have to stop to pay for the new road – the barrier-free toll system Free Stream works.
Recall that the M-12 highway will pass through five regions: the Moscow, Vladimir and Nizhny Novgorod regions, as well as Chuvashia and Tatarstan. A trip along it from Moscow to Kazan without speeding does not take 12 hours, as on the M-7, but only 6.5 hours. The rate will be about 3,000 rubles, excluding discounts in the loyalty program (15%).
