More and more Chinese brands are entering the Russian car market. In China there are about 500 car manufacturers that have started making very good cars. In the last twenty years they have come a long way to meet the consumer. When they started, they largely borrowed the technologies of others, today both patents and licenses are used, joint productions are created, Jan Haytseer, vice president of the National Automobile Union, recalled in an interview with Sputnik radio.
The quality of cars from China is getting better, they are modern, with excellent design, but they have characteristic “diseases”.
The low price of Chinese cars is achieved not only through mass production, but also through economy. This is a thin metal and components and assemblies that have not been kept in mind.
“For example, sometimes there is an imperfect connection between the box and the motor, because this is some serious engineering work that Europeans have been working towards for years. The same goes for the suspension. But we will get used to it and will certainly drive it,” says Jan Heitzeer.
The operational experience of Chinese cars is small, so it is not yet known how durable, maintainable and unpretentious they are. It’s good that Chinese cars have already appeared in taxis and carsharing. Here they will be tested for strength, the expert noted.
