A new factory for the production of electronic modules has been opened in St. Petersburg. The Macro EMC venture opened at the end of 2021 and is now reaching its design capacity. The main product – an electronic module – is a functionally complete unit, consisting of separate elements and suitable for independent use or within a complex electronic system.

In one hour, the company can produce more than 490 thousand electronic components components. And per year, Macro EMC can produce up to 500 thousand computer modules, 5 million smart meter controller modules and 10 million memory modules.

According to the company, more than 50% of the goods of the listed nomenclature are delivered to us from China, Poland, Czech Republic, Finland and Romania. The company’s products are believed to partially replace electronic components now shipped to Russia from Asia and Europe, AiF-Petersburg reports.

If it is possible to guarantee quality, then it makes sense, because even before the sanctions, the cost of Macro EMC products was 20% lower than European counterparts, the company says. Comparison with Asian components is not given.

  • Due to the shortage of electronics, the government is developing a simplified technical scheme for the production of cars. Many manufacturers, especially AvtoVAZ and UAZ, spoke out in favor of the transition to it.
