In September 2022, 23,455 new crossovers and SUVs found their buyers in Russia, which is 52.8% of the total passenger car market, Avtostat reports, citing data from PPK JSC. The share of the SUV segment has been above 50% for several months.
Admittedly, for the first time in a year, this indicator fell below the indicated figure in August, which was 49.5%. Now it has returned to the previous level, which is explained by the recovery in sales of SUVs Lada Niva Legend and Niva Travel.
The popularity of the “Chinese” is growing, whose line consists almost entirely of SUVs.
B-class cars accounted for 38.9% in September. In total, therefore, the SUV and B-segments represent more than 90% of the Russian market for the second month in a row, according to the study.
