Today, the “Road Safety: Effective Steps to Zero Mortality” conference was held at the “Road 2022” exhibition forum, which will be held in Kazan from October 12 to 14. At the roundtable of the conference, representatives of different departments proposed effective measures to strengthen interaction between departments and increase the survival rate of road victims.

There has been a major breakthrough recently in the field of saving lives after traffic accidents, with especially serious work being done by the traffic police. But much remains to be done, noted forum participants.

So according to statistics, for example, in Germany for 87 victims there are 2 dead, in Italy: for 58 – 7 dead, in Ireland: for 23 people 5 dead and in Russia for 8 injured people 1 dead.

Following the event, measures were proposed to improve the situation:

  1. It is necessary to establish a remote consultation for first aid, including the use of video calls.
  2. It is proposed to build new helipads and contract with those sites that today do not accept Ministry of Emergency Situations helicopters with casualties on board.
  3. It is necessary to work out a system whereby the nearest ambulance brigade leaves for an accident, even if it is located in a neighboring region. Today, the closest brigade assigned to the region where the accident took place is sent to the scene of the accident. If there is an accident at the border of the regions, it happens that it is faster to get out of the adjacent region, and here every minute counts.
  4. It is necessary to increase the degree of confidence in the information provided by the ERA-GLONASS system. In general, the system works well, but sometimes 112 service operators try to clarify the location of the incident with the victims, although the map generated by the system already contains such information. It also contains other data that can help reduce response time: type of vehicle, type of fuel it uses, etc. To date, information about incidents is sent through the 112 system, which is linked to systems in 84 regions, Smolensk region only remained, but by the end of the year this connection will be established.

The conference participants also spoke to the media and asked journalists not to support the myth that unqualified first aid from eyewitnesses to an accident can have criminal consequences for those who decide to help. That is why many are afraid to offer even the simplest help, for example, to pull the wound with a tourniquet to stop blood loss. In fact, there has been no recent case where individuals have been held responsible for incorrectly administered first aid.

During the event, it was also noted that 13,000 traffic police patrol cars have already received special first aid kits for a quick response.
