This year, the owners of Lada Granta, Kalina and Priora cars became the culprits of traffic accidents in Russia more often than others, TASS reports, citing an investigation by the VSK insurance company.
Among the most “emergency” owners were VAZ/Lada (18%), Kia (8%), Renault (6%), Nissan (5%) and Volkswagen (4%).
Most often there were accidents on the following Lada models:
- Granta (21% of the total number of accidents involving Lada)
- Kalina (9%)
- Priora (9%).
In 80% of cases, the perpetrators of road accidents in 2022 were men: in 27% of cases – at the age of 30-40 years, in 25% – at the age of 40-50 years. Russians over 60 were responsible for 18% of the accidents.
According to the nine-month results of 2022, the most accident-prone Russian regions, besides Moscow and the Moscow region (2% of accidents each in the total number of insured events under OSAGO), included:
- Krasnodar Territory (4%)
- Rostov region (1.6%)
- Bashkortostan (1.4%)
- Tver region (1.2%)
- Chelyabinsk region (1.1%).
In total, the insurance company analyzed more than 80 thousand applications for receiving payments under OSAGO during the survey.
