Group Renault prepares for the Australian market with budget models daciawhich will be sold there under the brand name Renault. The first car will be the new Duster and later the line-up will be completed with the Bigster crossover.
“These are going to be cars of only new generations,” said Glen Sealy, head of Renault Australia.
Pickups are very popular in Australia, which makes it likely that the third new model will be the Oroch, a pickup based on the Duster. The fourth model will be Sandero.
According to Glen Sealy, Dacia will be sold under the Renault brand in both Australia and South America or India.
“We see great prospects for Dacia sales under the Renault brand. … In Australia, 69 brands compete in the market with 1.2 million car sales per year,” says Glen Seely.
By comparison, about 1.66 million new cars were sold in France in 2021.
