According to AvtoVAZ, Renault dealers had about 7,000 unsold cars in mid-September. How to serve them?
I visited AvtoVAZ central parts warehouse at Tver. The warehouse is gigantic, with modern logistics – right down to the voice communication between the electronic control system and the driver of the electric car, who picks up the next order, around the endless racks.
But I was only interested in one question: the availability of spare parts for Renault.
What did you see
The hope of finding absolutely all spare parts in the warehouse was unsuccessful – without access to the database, you can search for something only by typing. Renault parts are stored in a complex system interspersed with parts for Lad. I walked along the shelves – and, contrary to the instructions, I rummaged through the drawers and boxes.
I immediately apologize to whoever will get the renoshny fuel module, which I have already had a hand in. But I can say that the module is real – TI Automotive. There are Turkish Motrio parts (this is Renault’s second line), brand new drive shafts made at the Turkish GKN Eskişehir Otomotiv factory and much more, including a large number of spare parts for Lada cars.
Where to find spare parts
Under a tripartite agreement between Renault SAS (France), Renault Russia and JSC AVTOVAZ, AVTOVAZ was given the exclusive right to after-sales and warranty service for Renault cars, as well as the sale of original spare parts for them.

It was yours, it became ours
The 5% spare parts, which are currently difficult to supply, are not a stumbling block either. The fact is that AvtoVAZ removed all Renault warehouse stocks in Russia — This is a huge amount of spare parts, everything is there.
AvtoVAZ received a huge stock of spare parts from the Renault (now Moskvich) plant in Moscow. When production stopped, all these components became spare parts in the blink of an eye.
I’ve been particularly interested in critical positions like gearboxes, including hydromechanical and CVTs – they don’t usually roll around in warehouses in high volumes. The answer was that dealers now replace up to ten gearboxes every week – and there are no problems with that. This applies to hydraulic machines as well as to variators. No problem, as I was assured, and with the repair – and even with the replacement! – engines. Also because in the Moskvich factory there are a large number of these engines and CVTs.
What about dealers?
The organizational work with the Renault dealers is almost complete. 154 dealer agreements have already been signed (for a total of 155 Renault dealers) for the maintenance of Renault cars through the AVTOVAZ system. Accordingly, the shipment of spare parts to all these dealers has started since July 2022.
The dealer does not have the right to refuse warranty service to the owner of a Renault car on the grounds that he does not have spare parts, does not have or has not had a contract with AVTOVAZ, or for other reasons.. Repairing the car under warranty is his sacred duty by law. AVTOVAZ will reimburse the dealer for all warranty service costs – even those incurred by the dealer during the transition period, when Renault has already left, but AVTOVAZ has not yet arrived.

Summary: Parts are available. Obviously there are problems – where without. I even know fellow journalists who own Renaults and argue with warranty dealers. But if the dealer refuses to fix, this is his dishonest behavior. You can make a complaint by telephone or by e-mail, which can be found on the Lada website. There is also a list of all newly authorized Renault dealers.
