All negative situations should stay outside the car door. Driving should be focused and calm. If you show your aggression, you can harm not only yourself, but also others.
What can be done?
When you realize that you are losing your temper, try calling someone, talking and getting rid of this negativity. In any case, there is no need to conflict, push and compete with anyone. Remember the rule of three D: “Give way to the fool.”
All people are different. Try to stay calm, because you don’t know how the other person will behave. It is better to show restraint, concentration and let the ignorant pass. Remember that any wave of emotions on the road is dangerous!
If it didn’t help…
Do you feel like you are already cooking and want to swear? Better stop, exhale, find a gas station and drink tea. Do your best to calm down and avoid conflict situations.
Plus, I can advise you a few effective methods on how to quickly recover if it looks like it’s going to take a few more seconds – and you’ll explode:
- Always keep some candy in your car. If you feel like you’re about to lose your temper, “throw” a candy and dissolve it slowly.
- Start counting back from 50. Counting down requires concentration, so your brain will switch to this task.
- Take a deep breath and exhale slowly. This will help you calm down and clear your head.
Advice for the future
And finally, if you feel that you often lose your temper while driving, even though it seems to you that your fault is not here and other people are provoking you, then it is better to see a psychologist. This will help a lot, because behind the wheel you need to be as focused and cool as possible, regardless of the situation on the road.
