The Ministry of Labor rejected the Duma’s initiative on the possibility of using maternity capital for the purchase of a family car. Recall that the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education, Yana Lantratova, sent an appeal on this matter to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, but the appeal did not find support there.
In a reply letter, the head of the Ministry of Labor, Anton Kotyakov, indicates that parents regularly contact him with this question, but buying a car with parent capital carries serious risks, reports Parlamenskaya Gazeta.
According to the minister, such a purchase of a car does not solve the problem of respecting children’s rights to the ownership of this real estate, and in the event of a family breakdown, even the imposition of a direct ban on the transfer or disposal of this property does not guarantee the respect of the rights of all family members, including children.
Kotyakov also notes that after buying a car, money is spent on it – insurance, maintenance, repairs.
So buying a car will improve the life of a family with children in the short term, but in the long term it will not have a lasting impact on well-being. Moreover, according to the head of the Ministry of Labor, there are risks of misuse of equipment and inefficient use of budget resources.
- Earlier, the head of AVTOVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, expressed his arguments for using parent capital to buy a car.
