Next year, AvtoVAZ wants to resume production of cars with anti-lock braking system (ABS), company head Maxim Sokolov said at a meeting in the Federation Council on the development of the auto industry.

Closer to 2024 it will most likely be possible to return the ESP functions, and in May next year the 16-valve engine.

Problems remain with the return of automatic transmission, four-wheel drive and a modern engine. These are “possible, but not quickly solved tasks that require serious funding,” reports Maxim Sokolov’s RIA Novosti.

According to him, the development of his automatic transmission will cost about 30 billion rubles, another 10 billion rubles will be needed for a new manual transmission, and another 20 billion rubles – to create a four-wheel drive for cars.
