Employees of one of the salons shared the details of the work of Toyota dealers with Rossiyskaya Gazeta. Almost all popular models were presented on the show floor: Camry, RAV4, Fortuner, Land Cruiser 300 and Land Cruiser Prado.

From the “cheap” – the Camry sedan or the RAV4 crossover, they were estimated at 3.2-3.5 million rubles for the basic versions. Dealer markup – from 700 thousand to one million rubles. The sales people immediately say that the extra cost only includes an advanced anti-theft system, and such huge sums are charged for the opportunity to buy the latest new cars from official dealers.

For the Fortuner SUV, they are already asking 1.5 million rubles from above, and 6.5 million rubles, or two-thirds of the price in the price list, are thrown at the flagship Land Cruiser 300.

A Toyota dealer spokesman says the last delivery of new cars was in February 2022, now there are only a handful left and no stock.

The manufacturer immediately distributed all finished cars according to dealer quotas and sent them to car dealers. The cars that were not fully assembled at the St. Petersburg factory were disassembled for spare parts, so that at least there was some reserve to meet the warranty obligations.

What’s next?

Now only legal entities can afford to buy cars at such prices. The dealers themselves, thinking about how they will live when all the cars run out, think they will be able to set up parallel imports of cars, but taking into account all the possible problems and risks, prices will be even higher than they are now.
