In Colombia there was a dangerous episode with Niva of the Soviet years of release. On Nov. 13, in the Fresno municipality, an SUV driver was driving slowly to an auto repair shop when the car’s engine suddenly caught fire, Lada Niva Documentary reports, citing local press. The source says the cause of the fire was a short circuit.
Probably there was also a fuel leak, otherwise how to explain the almost instant spread of fire? Surveillance camera images show how perplexed the driver is in the first seconds of the fire.
Fortunately, the auto service worker was more agile — and probably better prepared for such incidents. As soon as he saw the flame, he jumped up and ran to the repair side, but did not save himself, but to save the property of the “burnt victim” with a fire extinguisher. He also appeared to be familiar with Niva, as he could easily catch the hood that opened against the movement.
The fire was successfully extinguished, but caused resonance in Fresno and even got on the radar of the local mayor’s office: The mayor personally told reporters that there was no fire extinguisher in the car, which is a violation. And if it weren’t for the fortunate proximity of car service, the Niva would have burned down completely.
- A fire with the participation of Lada recently occurred in Russia – Vesta, driving on the street, broke out.
