AVTOVAZ has patented a push button switch with the inscription “Sport”.
The relevant documents appeared in the open section of the database of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS). A small cylindrical part with an LED indicator of the on status will of course be installed on the front panel.
In particular, such switches have not been used on Lada cars before. But in the XRAY Cross (now discontinued along with the parent XRAY model), the “Sport” button was used as part of a larger node – a drive mode controller that varies the throttle’s sensitivity and the degree of ABS and ABS intervention. ESC controls systems.
In “Sport” mode, you can start with the electronics at the point of slipping the drive wheels and extinguish drifts and drifts not so severe, the car is more sensitive to the accelerator pedal (in cars with the AMT robot, the lower gear was kept longer during acceleration), and most likely pressing a new “single” key will determine just such an algorithm.
But which models will get the feature is still a mystery. Maybe Niva Sport, announced next year, with an engine that develops 122 hp according to preliminary data, will make it?
And the main contender is perhaps the sports version of Lada Vesta NG.
Recall that the 1.8 engine of the current Vesta Sport develops a record 145 hp for AvtoVAZ series engines, but the car has no special modes.
- But AVTOVAZ will not take up this “sport” until 2023: the manufacturer said goodbye to the current Vesta generation, and the new one will be assembled in Togliatti early next spring.
