The Volga Automobile Plant will no longer produce the Vesta family in its original pre-styling form, this was first announced at an official level. At the restart of production, scheduled for 2023, cars presented by AVTOVAZ as Vesta NG will be produced immediately. So neither in Izhevsk, nor in Tolyatti, Vesta, as we know it since 2015, will be produced anymore.
Forget the old Vesta, it will be a new generation model. The launch in Tolyatti will take place in early spring of next year,” Rossiyskaya Gazeta is quoted as saying by communications director Sergei Ilyinsky.

It should be noted that AVTOVAZ understands the “new generation” as a restyled version, called Vesta NG (new generation) and presented to the general public on February 22, 2022. True, then only the exterior was shown and further “declassification” was greatly delayed by the subsequent events of late February. Only about 800 commercial vehicles were assembled in Izhevsk and now the assembly of Vesta NG is transferred to Tolyatti, on a more productive line.
The medium term is the creation of a crossover based on the Lada Vesta and the B-segment family. It will be a separate family from the B-segment – sedan, station wagon and station wagon, which will be sold in parallel with the Granta model. These machines should be on the conveyor belt in 2024-2025. The family will be based on a new platform based on the French CMF-B architecture, which will be finalized,” Ilyinsky summed up the company’s future plans.
The head of the press office also noted that there is a distant planning horizon until 2030, and we are talking about “a completely new car that will become the basis for a whole family of VAZ cars.”
